I joined Lithgow Perkins as a school leaver in 2012 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2018. I have enjoyed working for a smaller, independent firm as it has granted me the opportunity to gain experience in many different departments. One of the great things about working for a firm like Lithgow Perkins is how closely we work with our clients and get to know them at an operational level. We pride ourselves in our customer service and are invested in getting to know each individual business that we work with so that we are better placed to advise them.

My main role when I started at Lithgow Perkins was accounts preparation and tax compliance. Whilst I am still actively involved in this side of the practice, I also now undertake business consultancy, tax planning and audit work. I am comfortable working with businesses of all sizes, from preparing the accounts and tax planning for sole traders and owner managed companies to assisting in the sale of multiple million pound companies and providing cashflows and valuations for the shareholders.

People can often have a view that accountancy is dull, but I find it really interesting being able to work closely with such a wide range of businesses from all sectors. This gives you an insight into how each business is run. It gives me great pleasure to be able to advise a client and help them grow their business and increase their profitability. Working with businesses of all types has also helped me build a range of knowledge in corporation and business tax, as well as personal tax planning.

In common with all of the partners here, I have a range of expertise, with my particular specialist experience being in technical accountancy issues and business consultancy services such as cashflows and valuations.
