I joined the firm in August 2003 after obtaining a degree in Accounting and Finance from Leeds Metropolitan University. Since joining I have qualified with the ACCA and progressed to be a partner in April 2011.
During my time here, like my fellow partners, I have built a wealth of knowledge in general compliance work but have tended to specialise in personal tax planning, inheritance tax planning, trust work, payroll and one off consultancy work.
My passion, however, lies in assisting start up businesses and helping them flourish into profitable enterprises. I have the necessary skills to guide new entrepreneurs through the maze of legislation and the ever increasing bureaucracy, I can advise you on the most efficient business structure to use, both from a commercial and a tax point of view. As the size of your business begins to increase and becomes more profitable, I can assist in helping you to raise the finance required to fund expansion.
Finally, as you begin to look for an exit strategy from the business, whether that is the sale of the business or your retirement, I can offer advice to ensure your tax liability is kept to an absolute minimum.
In the time I have worked at Lithgow Perkins I have seen the UK’s tax code increase in size year on year meaning more compliance work for clients coupled with the danger of increasing penalties for errors. An important element of my work is to ensure we offer cost effective tax planning tailored to meet individual needs. This is part of the ethos of the firm, striving to offer a professional, cost effective, tailored service to our clients, yet remain friendly and approachable.
If you want to know more about me or Lithgow Perkins LLP or anything connected with the above, please call me on 01423 564446 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you.
