Success continues for our young accountants
5th December 2018
Here at Lithgow Perkins, our younger employees continue to achieve success as they progress towards becoming senior accountants.
As one of Harrogate’s oldest accountancy firms, we are focused on ensuring our next generation of talent has the skills to maintain our strong position in the future. Because of this ethos, we provide our junior staff members with the support they need to develop their accountancy knowledge and expertise.
So we are delighted that three of our younger employees continue to be successful in gaining the qualifications and experience they need to enable them to play important roles within the firm’s future.
Tom Rhodes, 23, has recently become our newest chartered accountant after passing his ACA Advanced Level Case Study in July, earning him his ACA qualification and a promotion to senior accountant.
Tom Lowry, also 23, continues his studies towards ACA qualification. In September this year, he reached the professional/part-qualified stage after achieving high scores in modules in Business Planning for Taxation and Business Strategy and Technology. Now working at Lithgow Perkins as a semi-senior accountant, he is studying towards three Advanced ACA exams in July and November next year, and is hoping to have fully qualified by the end of 2019.
Matthew Hall, 20, recently earned his AAT Level 3 qualification after passing exams in advanced bookkeeping, final accounts preparation, management accounting (costing), indirect tax, spreadsheets for accounting, and ethics. He is now working towards his AAT Level 4, the final level which he hopes to have finished by next September. Matthew’s job role has diversified greatly in recent months, changing from mainly working in the bookkeeping and payroll teams to now joining the accountancy and probate departments too.
Partner Joe Taylor, who himself joined the firm as a graduate, said: “It’s an absolute pleasure working with Tom, Matthew and Tom and seeing them progress in their accountancy careers and achieve the success they deserve. They are all valuable members of our team here at Lithgow Perkins, and we look forward to supporting them in their continued development."
