Partner

I trained and qualified at a two partner practice in Putney, south-west London, which gave me an excellent foundation as a Chartered Accountant. The firm was of a size that enabled me to learn the ropes of general practice, as I gained experience in accounts preparation, audit, corporate and personal tax, payroll and VAT. The client base was diverse, similar in many respects to the client base here at Lithgow Perkins LLP, such that in addition to the many personal tax clients, partnerships and small limited companies that the practice deals with, there were also larger clients so that I gained experience in auditing larger companies including an unquoted plc.

After qualifying, I spent five years in the audit department of a medium-sized firm in Central London, preparing accounts and auditing a wide variety of companies before returning to Yorkshire in 2002, where I joined an independent Yorkshire firm, which grew by merger into a Top 10 International practice.

I have significant experience with accounting and auditing groups of companies, and have dealt with many property companies and those involved in the retail and manufacturing sector.

Having worked in firms of differing sizes, I had a strong desire to take skills I had learnt and apply them again in a smaller practice. I joined Lithgow Perkins LLP and now have more opportunity to talk regularly with my clients, understand them and their businesses and provide relevant business advice.

In common with all the partners I have a wide range of expertise, with my particular specialist experience being in audit and the not-for-profit sector.
